This Spring sees the start of a new programme of retreats at the luxurious Orangerie Duras – a six bedroom National Historic Monument whose 800-year-old bastion forms part of the ancient fortifications of Château Duras. This is your chance to enjoy in a 5-night food and wine retreat (7 to 12 May) with one of the most respected wine experts in the Bordeaux region and Yann Florio the award winning celebrity chef. Yann Florio, third generation French chef and MasterChef finalist, who became known for his creativity and originality, will share with us over several masterclasses, his tips of creating French cuisine with a modern twist. He will inspire himself using traditional local ingredients from the area – fish from the fresh-water rivers, organic steak smoked on vine cuttings, enticing ways to prepare the old- fashioned varieties of vegetables of the region. The environment is important to Yann too and he will share with us his tips on doing all this while creating minimum waste.
Our wine expert Nicolle Croft will ensure the Yann’s creative dishes will be married with the best wines of the region (and she will explain what makes a breaks the perfect wine and food match) so we learn to all get it right each time.

You will visit some of the most top properties as well as local discoveries. Nicolle will introduce you to the winemakers, giving you an inside perspective on one of the world’s most famous wine regions.
