ELECTRIC BIKE RIDE
With the gentle hills and beautiful scenery, electric bikes are the perfect way to see the sights around St Emilion for all ages (from 10 years age). It is possible to rent a tow trailer for young ones. We have put together some ideal circuits that take you in front of some of the most beautiful scenic routes and pass you in front of the most beautiful and well-known châteaux. These circuits are downloaded onto your smart phone with GPSwith Visocyclo application (visocyclo.fr) – handle bar phone holders are provided!
You can rent the electric bikes directly from this link and pick them up from Château Béard la Chapelle St Emilion in St Laurent des Combes. In the summer there is a rental base at the parking of Villemaurine in the centre of St Emilion.

Your Hosts:
Nicolle Croft will welcome you in French or English. Nicolle is a wine guide and author of several books on wine including her recent guide ‘Bordeaux Sip by Sip’. She is passionate about having fun while learning about this fascinating subject that she has dedicated her life to.
The winemaker who represents the 9th generation of the family, Franck Moureau will often also be present, so you can meet him face-to-face and ask any questions.

When the famous village of Saint-Emilion is teaming with visitors, locals come to the well-kept secret of St Laurent des Combes with the panoramic view of the vineyards and the valley of the Dordogne, its Romanesque Church, its wooded walks, the clear spring pools of water in the village ‘lavoir’ (washing pool) – the perfect secret place for an unforgettable picnic. It is the only area in all of St Emilion that has public footpaths. A ‘Combe’ is a short valley and a number of small rivers from sources on the limestone plateau have carved valleys into the stone here.

The bikes are all brand new each year and are Made in France by Starway. They are extremely easy to use and have 3 different speeds and a booster. Trailers for little ones can be reserved. Helmets are supplied for all reservations. Circuits via smartphone and a handle bar holder can be supplied. Chain provided to lock up bike when visiting St Emilion. Can also supply saddle bags. Costs are 36€ per day. 3 sizes available 24 inch (from 10 year olds) 26 inch for women and medium men and 28 inch for larger men. Also VTC version (Velo Tout chemin). Can travel at around 60km by day. Depot in Libourne and only summer months in St Emilion (parking Villemaurine).
